As a child, Sophie grew up in a sprawling concrete jungle where bird calls are drowned out by the everpresent bass druming of jackhammers and family moments on tendered lawns are remembered for their inherent scarcity.
Now immersed in a culture that reveres its organic environment and is abundantly resourced with horticultural diversity, Sophie is driven to preserve the remains of fallen plant lives not just to immortalise what once were, but to continue to evolve the way nature shapes our memories.
By day, Sophie is a speech pathologist dedicated to designing books and communication systems for people with disabilities. In her spare time, she collects fallen plant specimens and re-homes them in beautifully crafted botanical frames. Through this creative process, she finds parallels between nurturing communication in others and celebrating the stories of nature’s treasures.
